ABOUT TREVOR

There’s a difference between changing who you are and becoming more fully yourself.

I’m Trevor MacMillan, an Alignment Coach based in Edmonton.

I help self-aware people question what no longer fits, reconnect with their own inner authority, and move forward with greater ease and self-trust.

My path here

For much of my life, I was very good at responsibility.

I learned how to solve problems, lead people, navigate difficult situations, and carry a great deal. Those abilities served me well professionally and personally. But over time, I also began to see the cost of living primarily through effort, competence, and responsibility.

Like many people who come to coaching, I had already done a considerable amount of inner work. I understood many of my patterns of behaviour; however, that’s different from being free of them.

That led me deeper into questions about conditioning, identity, self-trust and what happens when we stop organizing our lives around who we learned we were supposed to be.

Alignment Coaching grew out of that exploration

A Subtractive Approach

Coaching isn’t about adding more strategies, discipline, or self-improvement.

Often, the more interesting question is what can be taken away.

An old belief. An inherited expectation. A role you have outgrown. A responsibility that was never really yours. A way of protecting yourself that once made sense but no longer does. These habits can produce a life that doesn’t feel like yours.

My role isn’t to tell you what your life should look like. It’s to help you dig yourself out from underneath years of conditioning so you can hear yourself again.

The aim is greater self-trust — and the freedom to make choices from what feels authentic rather than what others want from you.

Training and Experience

Wayfinder Training

I completed Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach Training in 2026.

The Wayfinder approach is grounded in helping people question limiting beliefs, reconnect with their own inner guidance, and create lives that feel more authentic and aligned.

Professional Background

Before moving into coaching in 2025, my work spanned leadership, nonprofit governance, financial services, and complex problem-solving.

I’ve led teams, navigated organizational change, guided groups through comlex decisions, and spent years helping people make sense of complicated situations.

That experience informs my coaching, but coaching is a different relationship. I’m not here as the expert on your life. My role is to help you become clearer about what you know, what you want, and find your own inner wisdom.

You don’t need to have it figured out before we talk.

If something in your life feels stuck, unclear, or ready to change, a discovery call is simply a place to explore what’s happening and whether working together makes sense.
